Water Servicing Coordinator

Our team of dedicated, experienced engineers, designers and support staff have undertaken in excess of 6,000 projects with a recognised specialisation in Hydraulic, Fire and Civil Services as well as Sydney Water Co-ordination and Project Management. We are currently working on a number of state significant projects including Sydney Metro, Barangaroo and Sydney Airport which we require assistance on.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills to join our growing team as a full time Water Servicing Co-ordinator (WSC) at our CBD office.

Job Description:
The WSC works in the Civil and Water Engineering team at Warren Smith & Partners Pty Ltd. The team member will be able to work independently through substantial tasks under the overall supervision of the Director of Civil and Water Engineering and under the direct supervision of Civil Engineers and Designers.

Minimum requirements of the WSC:

  • TAFE Certificate II in Engineering or equivalent
  • Intermediate/advanced AutoCad capability and good understanding of layers, GIS
  • Understanding of 3D terrain modelling software
  • Good oral and written communication skills with use of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, word, excel, powerpoint etc)
  • Be Sydney based

Responsibilities of the WSC:

  • Design and drafting of Sydney Water infrastructure including water, sewer and stormwater assets.
  • Co-ordination and submission of design packages for Sydney Water approval through E-Developer.
  • Application of WSA codes in undertaking designs.
  • Site supervision, as required, of the installation of infrastructure.
  • Interrogate design solutions to ensure full compliance with codes, standards and project briefs.
  • Attendance of co-ordination meetings and resolve design issues between the various consultants and clients.
  • Write concise project communication.
  • Communicate via e-mail, ACONEX and other web based project management platforms.
  • Participate in company communication portals including Confluence and Hipchat.
  • Review design documentation mark-ups and ensure that the drafted design is accurate.
  • Research appropriate proprietary solutions and ensure that manufacturer’s information that is supplied is suitable for the project.
  • Attend internal project meetings to report on the progress of the design.
  • Take instructions from the Director and other assigned Engineers/Designers.
  • Work within the project design timelines and advise the director if there is a risk of not meeting the targets.
  • Review contractors WAE drawings, RFIs and other requests during construction.
  • Attend training sessions as required.

Hydraulic/Plumbing Services Designer

Warren Smith & Partners has provided building services engineering throughout NSW and Australia for the past thirty-seven years. Our highly trained and experienced in-house staff have undertaken in excess of 5,800 projects with a recognised specialisation in Hydraulic, Fire and Civil related services as well as Sydney Water Coordinator and Project Management.

To progress your career within our Hydraulic Services division, we are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Services designer with a minimum of 4 years experience. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Hydraulic Services Diploma. Ideally the candidate will also have other qualifications in the building services sector. Be it a undergraduate degree or Plumbing trade qualifications and plumbing related experience.

Due to the ongoing growth of the hydraulic services division a permanent role is being offered. This exciting opportunity is for a bright, motivated individual and will involve working closely with the building services design teams and immediately commence work on the highest profile residential development in Sydney.

The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills. You will be self-motivated and have well developed analytical skills, a high level of attention to detail and be able to work autonomously or within a team.

You will also have an extensive knowledge of hydraulic services and be keen to further your career in hydraulic services design and consultation.

In addition to an easy going personality, you will be conscious of the need to be highly attentive to detail.
