Barangaroo Reserve Sewer Pump Station

As part of works involved for Barangaroo Reserve, Warren Smith Consulting Engineers decommissioned the heritage listed Sydney Water Sewer Pump Station (SPS0014) and diverted 0.9km of existing sewer main down Hickson Road to SPS1129. The SP0014 building has been preserved and relocated on site, repurposed as public ablutions.

As part of the Vehicle Access and Pedestrian Safety (VAPS) Project, WSCE were involved in the deviation of the Bennelong trunk main stormwater system. Works included the installation of a 2.4m wide by 1.8m deep in situ box culvert system with new harbour discharge point. Challenges in the construction process mainly stemmed from the changes in tide level and existing services in the area.

As part of this proposed mixed use commercial and residential development in Waterloo, Warren Smith Consulting Engineers provided advice in developing the masterplan in relation to significant Sydney Water infrastructure located on site. This included the Sydney Water heritage listed Waterloo Pumping Station and Valve House and the diversion of the 3.0m wide by 1.08m deep Shea’s Creek stormwater box culvert.
