Northconnex

The Northconnex project will connect the M2 and M1 through a 9km tunnel which runs under Pennant Hills Road in order to alleviate traffic and create a more seamless route heading north out of Sydney. At 14 work locations, Warren Smith Consulting Engineers has co-ordinated the adjustment of all Sydney Water infrastructure works to accommodate the installation of the tunnel, the four (4) vent shafts and each of the site compounds.

Marsh St, Westconnex

As part of the Westconnex amplification, an extra lane will be added to Marsh Street to accommodate incoming traffic flow. A number of Sydney Water assets will be affected by these works. The works require a sewer main running parallel to Marsh Street to be adjusted for the bridge extension works. The bridge extension will run over a DN1800 trunk main from the desalination plant, which will also require supervision during construction.

B-Line

The B Line bus service has been introduced as a new turn up and go service providing Northern Beaches commuters with a regular and reliable method of public transport between Mona Vale and Sydney’s CBD. A total of thirty eight (38) double decker buses, in their distinctive yellow paint job, completed roll out in October 2017, with the last of the six (6) carparks opening in 2018. Improvements to the road corridor have been undertaken to facilitate bus priority measures with all roadwork planned for completion in 2019. Warren Smith Consulting Engineers has had the pleasure of providing design consultation, and overseeing the construction of the required Sydney Water assets ranging in size from 100mm Ductile Iron water mains all the way up to 560mm Welded Steel water mains.
